LS1 Mazda Miata |
|
|
Karl's project Miata was pushing 286 HP at the wheels with its
turbo, 4 cylinder engine. Only 14 short of his 300 WHP goal.
So what was its next mod? How about transplanting an LS1 350
CID engine out of a late model Chevy Camaro, with a GM Performance
Hot Cam and a few other goodies.

R1100S Custom Turbo |
 |
This
BMW bike went pretty good from the factory...but Les wanted a
little more. So how about a custom install of a Garrett turbo
from an Audi 1.8T? The bike runs 7 PSI of boost, and put down
131 WHP and over 100 Ft-lbs of torque. At about 500 lbs, this
bike is an absolute rocket!

Ford
Fairlane -5.0 Twin-turbo

This
64 Ford Fairlane has a trick or two up its sleeve. Under the hood lies
a Ford 5.0 Liter late-model Mustang engine with custom twin-turbochargers.
Les has tuned the engine via an Accel DFI EMS. The car put down 425
WHP and 460 Ft-lbs of torque at a conservative 12 PSI of boost.
Toyota
MR2 Turbo (FFT Engineering)

FFT
Engineering's 1991 Toyota MR2 turbo has list of custom modifications
a mile long. Custom intercooler, oil cooler system, intake/exhaust manifolds
are only a few of the mods on the list. Top it off with a fully built
engine by ESP and a stand alone engine management system tuned by FFT
Engineering, and you have the ultimate street/track vehicle. The mechanical
aspects of the vehicle are complete and it is currently undergoing dyno
tuning. Current dyno charts show 270 WHP at a mere 13 PSI of boost for
engine break-in. Easily capable of 300 WHP once boost is increased to
20 PSI.
Chevrolet
El Camino

This
truck has been chosen for a full overhaul including a frame-off restoration
and ESP built Chevy 350. The suspension is fully upgraded with tubular
A-arms, Urethane bushings, and more. A custom 9" rear end and late-model
Camaro manual 6-speed transmission make up the improved drive-train.
Custom paint to follow.
